Opening of two films analysis

The Skeleton Key: (Psychological horror) This genre was established within the first two minutes as it was set in a hospice, we could tell this by the costume and the old man dying. Also there is natural lighting by a big tree as the nurse reads to him. This could be a pathway to heaven as she is reading to him from the bible.

Arlington Road: (Thriller) We were suggested that this was possibly the genre as the first scene is an injured boy walking down the middle of the road with a huge wound on his hand and blood everywhere. Also the editing made the screen look blurry which helped give us a feel of what was happening.
